OYH Supports Modern Aviation Infrastructure with Professional Waterproofing Systems
Airports today are expected to meet higher standards for safety, durability, energy efficiency, and environmental performance. As aviation infrastructure continues to evolve, waterproofing has become an increasingly important part of long-term building reliability, demanding both technical precision and proven project delivery experience.
OYH brings that combination to airport infrastructure worldwide. Across roofing systems, below-grade works, internal wet areas, and building enclosure systems, the company has built deep expertise through projects spanning diverse climates, geographies, and operational scales.
Beijing Daxing International Airport is a representative example. The terminal's central dome and five-pier skylight system produced a roof geometry of exceptional complexity. More demanding still was the irregular gutter network connecting approximately 8,000 glass panels — varying continuously in both width and slope, it left little room for conventional waterproofing detailing. To overcome these challenges, OYH applied a 2.0 mm reinforced TPO membrane system, combined with induction welding fixation and adhesive-assisted fixing. The solution satisfied the project's stringent wind uplift requirements while maintaining the roof flatness and architectural finish required for the terminal design.

At the Satellite Terminal of Shanghai Pudong International Airport, OYH provided integrated support across system design, material supply, and on-site construction execution. The roof adopted OYH's TPO single-ply membrane system, utilizing a dual-system approach that combines fully adhered and mechanically fastened installation to enhance wind uplift resistance. A customized gray matte-finish TPO membrane helped reduce solar glare and supported the project's green airport objectives.
Sanya Phoenix International Airport confronted distinct environmental constraints. Its hot, humid, and high-salinity coastal conditions placed elevated demands on material durability and system stability. OYH specified high-reflectance internally reinforced TPO membrane together with pre-applied waterproofing membrane, providing a solution engineered for long-term performance under sustained harsh environmental exposure.

The same rigor extends to OYH's growing international portfolio. At the Velana International Airport Expansion in the Maldives, OYH addressed durability, energy efficiency, and long-term maintenance requirements by employing pre-applied waterproofing membrane for below-grade structures and a TPO roofing system for the building envelope. At the Maldives Seaplane Airport Expansion, the focus shifted to indoor wet areas, where a coordinated system comprising polyurethane waterproof coating, tile adhesive, and interface bonding primer improved waterproofing reliability, substrate bonding, and installation efficiency.
Across these projects, one principle remains consistent: system solutions are customized to specific site conditions, rather than applying uniform standard specifications across diverse environments. As OYH continues to expand its international aviation portfolio, the integration of proven performance, low-carbon features, and integrated delivery capability continues to strengthen its collaboration with clients across the sector.
