On July 8, 2026, the 2025 State Science and Technology Awards were announced. The project “Key Technologies and Applications for Low-Carbon, High-Quality Recycling and Remanufacturing of Plastic Waste,” with Beijing Oriental Yuhong Waterproof Technology Co., Ltd. as one of the principal completing organizations, received the Second Prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award.

The project was jointly completed by multiple organizations and focuses on key technologies for the low-carbon, high-quality recycling and remanufacturing of plastic waste. It supports the development of more efficient plastic waste recycling pathways and promotes the industrial application of recycled materials.

Plastic waste recycling has become an important area of innovation as industries continue to advance circular economy practices and lower-carbon material solutions. The awarded project addresses key technical challenges in plastic waste recovery, remanufacturing, and industrial application, helping improve resource efficiency and the value of recycled materials.
